Sant Lluis Hotels (1)

Formerly a 16th century farmhouse, this charming boutique hotel in a rural setting offers a romantic haven for couples of all ages....

Beaches

The resort is set inland, therefore, has no beach of its own but plenty in nearby resorts. The beautiful Blue Flag beach at Punta Prima is not far away and offers a safe and clean environment for children. The soft sands and warm shallow waters are very appealing and there are many watersports available. There are also a few beachfront bars if you wish to grab a drink or something to eat.

Things to Do

The town is dominated by the Es Moli de Dalt, a fully restored traditional windmill which is now open to the public as a museum.

There are many routes and paths running through the resort and the surrounding area so why not set out for the day and explore the area and the many pre-historic and historical sites that you may find along the way.

The Menorca Cricket Club is situated just outside the resort and is open to the public so feel free to go and watch or you may prefer to watch the locals play petanc which is similar to French boules.

Also just outside the resort you will find the aerodrome and the hippodrome. The aerodrome is home to a go kart track, suitable for all ages and the hippodrome is a trotting track which is good fun to watch. Jockeys have to ensure their horse does not break into a gallop and just trots its way to the finish line.

Out and About

There are a few restaurants in the resort, offering a range of foods, from seafood to Spanish Tapas, with varying prices too. Most of the restaurants have bars too but if you are looking for something a bit more lively, you will need to venture into a larger resort.

There are plenty of little shops including bakers, newsagents, chemists, banks and even an ice cream cafe, so probably geared towards locals rather than tourists but you should still find everything you need.

Nearby Attractions

Many water sports enthusiasts will head to S'Algar, where they can participate in windsurfing, water skiing, jet skiing and diving. There are so many coral reefs and underwater caves along the coast, it really is a diver's paradise.

A wander round the S'Albufera Parc Natural is also well worth doing. The many footpaths lead you through the many different landscapes and woodlands to the sand dunes and the beach at Es Grau. There are also some cafe/bars at the beach here should you want to stop for a little refreshment.

Take a trip to Cova d'en Xoroi and enjoy a meal with a fantastic sea view. The restaurant/nightclub is set in the rocks above the sea and is a restaurant during the day then is transformed into a nightclub at night with themed nights and guest DJ's

The kids will enjoy visiting Fort Malborough, a 7 sided defence fort located in Cala de Sant Esteve. The 18th century fort was built by the British and having survived many attacks, is now open as a museum. Guided tours in various languages are available.

The capital, Mahon also has it's fair share of historic buildings such as La Mola, a gigantic fort which is located at the harbour side and the Baroque church of Santa Maria to name but a few. Many people come to Mahon to shop and will certainly not be disappointed. There are many bars and restaurants and nightclubs too, so it may well be worth saying over to take full advantage of what Mahon has to offer.
