Beaches

There are 2 beaches and some rock pools of the coast of Puerto de Santiago. The main beach is backed by a terraced palm garden and has plenty of boarded pathways for crossing the hot black sands. There is also a small beach by the fishing pier.

Things to Do

You can follow the coastal path along the rocky coastline of Puerto de Santiago, passing the beach and little rock pools into Los Gigantes. For sports, head up the hill towards the back of the resort and you will find the Pancrasio Socas Garcia sports complex which has tennis courts, a fitness gym and a variety of fitness classes.

From the marina in Los Gigantes you can take dolphin and whale watching trips. There are also water taxis and pleasure boat trips along the coast and to the secluded Masca Valley beach. Fishing trips, diving centres and dive trips are also available.

Out and About

There are terrace restaurants along the Avenida Maritmo offering international menus, from Chinese to Mexican and you can find a few traditional tapas bars and Canarian restaurants in the resort. For a livelier nightlife, although still relatively low key, there are sports bars, live music and tribute acts etc in neighbouring Playa de la Arena.

The lido swimming pools at Los Gigantes offer a pleasant alternative to the beach. There is a choice of two; the Oasis Club which also has facilities for children or the El Laguillo, near the harbour, which has a lagoon style pool with access to the sea and a natural rock pool.

Nearby Attractions

Head towards the Teide National Park and discover pretty mountain villages such as Masca and Santiago del Teide or in the other direction to Guia de Isora, all of which are within 30 minutes drive.

For bigger supermarket shopping, Adeje is approx 25 minutes away and whilst here you could explore the old quarter, high up in the hills. A couple of minutes further on will take you to the water parks and the beaches of the Costa Adeje.
