Lovely quiet area and suited us just fine. We felt very safe and comfortable. Beach was shallow and safe with good water sports. Night life was a little on the quiet side, most places closed by 11pm. We enjoyed catching the ferries to other resorts on the island. We were extremely relaxed and rested after this holiday.

Lots of good restaurants, lovely marina and beach for families. Pretty flowers and pedestrian ways. Great market on a Friday. Good links by boat or bus to other coastal resorts such as Amadores beach. Variety of shops all great for browsing in the cooler evenings.

Had a couple of meals out in the port, which were very good. The town is well kept and they even have people sweeping the streets - unheard of in our country! Took a submarine trip which was a little expensive, but you don't do that everyday. Also a trip up into the mountains which was hair- raising!

Very picturesque harbour, locals call it Little Venice due to the inlets running between the houses and lovely little bridges that run across. Plenty of restaurants and a couple of bars at the front well worth a visit.

The guide books are right, Puerto Mogan is the prettiest place to stay. Restaurants serving fresh fish a plenty and the best steaks I have had for years.<br /> And the yellow submarine was really worth going on.

Getting busier with the new motorway reaching the port and new building work but it still remains a quiet haven to enjoy a relaxing break. Hopefully these changes will not spoil this aspect of a lovely place to stay and visit.

Nice, quiet, clean. Friendly people. Restaurants specifically the Blue Marlin, staff lovely and food and drinks excellent. Craft fair on Mondays, fantastic goods and craftsman and not too busy. The Friday market the municipal one too busy and difficult to negotiate but able to haggle for a bargain. Spar supermarket well stocked, reasonably priced and better than the Hyper Dino supermarket.

Loved the resort, it's not big but enough. I went out on my own at times and felt completely safe, even in the evening. There's no one hassling you, you can look around a shop and be left alone, well most of the time, there was just one but they got the message in the end. It's just so pretty and relaxing. If you're stressed and want to get away from it all, read a book and not much else this is the place to go. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from, but we did think that they were a little pricey, but as we were half board we only had the odd drink.

Beaches

Puerto Mogan has a sweeping beach of pale golden sand and the waters in the bay are sheltered for swimming by a large breakwater and the marina. At the beach you can hire loungers, parasols and pedaloes, with more activities available in and around the marina.

Things to Do

From the marina you can take boat trips, go dolphin and whale spotting, take deep sea fishing trips in hunt of the prized blue marlins and underwater excursions on the yellow submarine. There are also ferries which run to the marinas and harbours at Arguineguin, Anfi del Mar, Puerto Rico and Las Meloneras.

Off shore there are a number of wrecks and caves to explore and there are diving centres in the resort offering PADI courses, scuba diving and guided boat dives.

A little further along the coast, behind Taurito beach is the Lago Oasis water park (5km) and, continuing east, you will find the beautiful Anfi Tauro Golf Club (10km) which boasts an 18 hole championship course as well as a 9 hole course.

Out and About

The pretty sea front village of Puerto Mogan comprises a maze of narrow streets and a riot of colourful flowers; a sheltered, sandy beach, an attractive marina and a traditional fishing harbour. A large street market is held at Puerto Mogan on Fridays.

There are numerous restaurants surrounding the marina and the beach and, as there is also a working fishing harbour, you could enjoy a fresh fish supper whilst watching the sunset.

Nearby Attractions

Heading inland and passing through the rugged mountainous landscape and rural hamlets towards the small town of Mogan (8.5km) you will pass the village of Molino de Viento. Here you can see the restored Molino Quemao, which is the tallest windmill on the island and is set in a small cactus garden with sculptures of over-sized kitchen equipment.

If you continue past Mogan, heading north east for a further 18km, you will come to the large Soria dam and its waterfall, surrounded by pine clad mountains, tropical fruit groves and palm trees.
