Huge choice of restaurants in the nearby marina area and town centre. 2 x supermarkets plus shops selling the full range of items. Plenty of boats & yachts to admire.
Town beach was good, but nearby Cala Romantica beach is awesome. Caves of Drach [major tourist attraction] a 5 minute walk away.

Small town with limited choice of restaurants, bars and shops in my opinion, however my wife would give it 4 stars for the very same reason!

Beautiful resort hotel 100 metres from Caves of Drach, 15 euros like middle earth with string quartet playing classical music in gondolas at the
exit. Lovely beach and marina. Walk down to lighthouse and get great view of coastline. Es Rivets good bar on bridge at marina.

Good range of restaurants, cafe's and bars. Fair range of prices (tapas to fine dinning) to suit most. Nice marina and smallish beach. Friendly town, lots of shops and a range of smallish supermarkets. Need to go out of town for big supermarket. Caves of Drach just around the corner from Aparthotel. A little hilly once you move off the marina/beach area.

What a place, the pace of life never goes above relaxed and the people and places to go are just fantastic. There is no frantic nightlife, no noisy bars and no large groups of people making a nuisance of themselves. If you really want to go on holiday and have a holiday this is the place to go. If you're looking for somewhere to go where the only thing to do is relax, this is the place.

Blau Punta Reina is next to 2 small beaches both in walking distance, Cala Romantica was the nicest and cleanest and had some beautiful views on the 5 minute walk down. Bus, land train or boat trip best options to get to Porto Cristo. We took the glass bottom boat at 48 euros for family of 4 and spent a couple of hours there. Lovely harbour. Caves of Drach were 14 euros pp.

Beautiful horseshoe shaped beach, with turquoise crystal clear water - gorgeous! Regular boat trips to places such as Cala Bona and Cala Millor etc are available several times a day just across the road from the hotel. Plenty of restaurants, but be aware some of the cafes with tables lining the beach charge extortionate prices - 2 cokes cost us 7 euros! There's also a good bus service. We enjoyed the walk around the impressive marina. Within a ten minute walk to the Caves of Drach. Overall, a beautiful resort, which is not commercialised.

Porto Cristo itself is a small port. Lovely little safe shallow beach for children and with pavement bars on top it's helpful for facilities when using the beach. Some lovely restaurants and tourist shops. Blau Punta resort is quite a distance from here, I believe you could get a bus, taxi prices were around 7e each way. One helpful thing in Porto Cristo at the taxi rank there.

Porto Cristo is not for the young or people who like a lot of life, it is for those who like a quiet holiday or a base to hire a car and go around the Island. There are bars and shops but on a smaller scale. Calla Millor is only a small bus ride away and Palma is about an hour on the local bus, the local bus stop is 2 minutes away from the hotel so are the boat trips.

Beach was great, cleaned every day, safe for children and swimmers, plenty to do, lots of shops and eating places, not a lot for children apart from the beach, shops were about same prices as uk, several good restaurants.

Picturesque laid back town. Just right for chilling out. Would not suite 18 - 30 crowd.

Everything just on your doorstep. A tidy beach with fabulous safe swimming. Hop on a bus to anywhere on the island, hop on a boat trip along the coast for a view from the sea and take a dip in the sea for fun! Stroll the small streets and find a bargain in the local shops with the friendly shopkeepers and just relax. Love it.

The beach

Sheltered in a natural harbour the Porto Cristo beach is 350-metres of fine sand with clear calm water. Sun-loungers, parasols and pedalos are available to hire.

Around the area a number of small sandy coves can be found; Cala Anguila and Cala Mendia are about 3km south of Porto Cristo, both are small sandy bays with crystal clear water, facilities are limited though both beaches do have a bar/restaurant close by.

For something a little more remote, Cala Varques is an unspoilt sandy cove situated 10km south of Porto Cristo, there are no facilities here so make sure to take plenty of refreshments.

Things to do

The main attraction and the reason for many day trippers to visit Porto Cristo are the Caves of Drach, it features many caverns with beautifully formed stalactites and stalagmites, as well as a large subterranean lake where classical music recitals are performed daily.

There are many boat trips available along the east coast including glass bottomed boat cruises visiting nearby resorts, hidden coves and sandy beaches. For a land excursion the town of Manacor is just 10-minutes drive away, famous for its pearls, olive wood craft and lively weekly market which takes place on a Monday.

The Jumaica Tropical Park, found on the outskirts of the resort is a popular choice for families where children can enjoy the birds and small animals in the mini-zoo.

Out and about

As a hilly resort you can expect to find a number of steps throughout, and those with walking difficulties or families with pushchairs may not find it suitable.

Evenings in Porto Cristo are quiet, with a selection of bars and restaurants to enjoy particularly around the harbour. For those seeking a livelier pace Cala Millor is just a short taxi ride away and offers a number of lively bars and discos.

The close proximity of both the Caves of Drac and Caves of Hams does mean that the days can be busy with visitors in and around the resort. Even so there are a number of cafes, bars and restaurants with enough for everyone.

Nearby attractions

For golfers there are two exceptionally good championship golf courses in the area, Pula is the closest with 18-holes and Golf Son Servera which has 9-holes.

Golf Paradise in Sa Coma offers golf of a different kind with 54-holes of crazy golf, set in tropical gardens. Another attraction close by is the Auto Safari Zoo, an enjoyable day out for families, where you can drive yourself around the park or travel on the zoo train.
