Polis Hotels Cyprus

Polis is a relaxed and refined resort where visitors can still experience a taste of true Cyprus with traditional red tiled roofs, white washed walls and winding streets. Polis is certainly the place for those who like to take it easy.

Polis is a very nice place to stay, it has it's own hidden beach which I would recommend that you take the trouble to find. The bars are pleasant and there is plenty of variety of types of food. The central square has a friendly atmosphere and the restaurants are very reasonable, the staff friendly and the food was excellent.

Love Polis unspoiled so far and hope that remains.

Loved it quiet enough, yet a lovely vibe in the town square at night in the local taverns. No cheesy entertainment or discos which was great. Food was fantastic in a number of the taverns. Location excellent and whilst Polis beach was pleasant enough a short bus ride to the Baths of Aphrodite and beaches there is well worth it.

Short walk into old town, small in area but several bars/cafes and restaurants to choose from - recommend Finikas for good food and pleasant atmosphere. We didn't go to the local beach but were told it was very nice.

What a marvellous place. If you don't like mass tourism and enjoy the true culture of a place then this is the place for you. You can explore the Akamas area in its natural state, enjoy uncrowded beaches with tavernas on the sea edge, if you enjoy freshly fished sea food, endless hospitality and a completely relaxing time then Stephanos Hotel Apartments in Polis is the place for you.

Ssssssssssssshhhhhhhhh!! This is one of the few unspoilt places in Cyprus, it has beautiful walks, very nice beaches with beach front restaurants, loads of places to eat local food and wonderful fish restaurants. Wherever you go you will be greeted with Cypriot hospitality. The Stephanos Hotel is a home away from home, a true Cypriot experience it offers everything and more for the independent traveller.

Natura Beach is right on the outskirts of Polis itself so we did not get the feeling we were actually staying in Polis.

Polis is well provided with some excellent restaurants and bars, sufficient shops and retains a quaintness and relaxed atmosphere. It is located within a beautiful area with many places of interest in close proximity though car hire is probably essential to enjoy its surroundings.

Polis itself shows signs of the recession. One or two good restaurants available but many shops have closed down since our last stay seven years ago.

A small town close to the hotel with many various restaurants and bars but not loud or clubby. This town has every facility and I wouldn't want to alter any of it as it still retains the true Cypriot atmosphere.

We enjoyed Polis. It is not too big nor noisy and there is a wide choice of places to eat and it is a very enjoyable place to wander around. Additionally it is away from the hustle and bustle of Paphos but not too remote and if, like us, you enjoy walking it is ideally placed for many of the recognised walking trails.

Plenty of places to eat and drink. Moustakalis taverna is a must offering barbecue every Saturday and live Greek music and dancing on a Tuesday evening. Beach is sandy with large pebbles. Plenty of shops, banks etc. Prices very similar to most of Europe.

Lovely beaches and quiet area. More for local people than tourists so we had lovely time exploring the quieter areas in Polis.

Droushia

Just 10km from Polis is the small village of Droushia, it's set on the high ground of the Laona plateau and is a traditional village featuring old stone houses with narrow winding streets. Its position allows for a cooler climate and amazing views across Chrysochou Bay and the towns of Latchi and Polis, the Akamas Peninsula and Troodos Mountains. This small village has a choice of coffee shops, supermarket and some welcoming tavernas, a great choice for anyone seeking the experience of a typical Cypriot village.

Things to do

The region boasts some excellent opportunities to enjoy outdoor activities, such as hiking, cycling, horse-riding, diving and even golf (the Tsada Golf Course is 25mins away).

The Akamas Peninsula is within easy reach of Polis, and can be explored by boat, Jeep or foot. This scenic corner of Cyprus is a protected natures reserve and home to the deep Avakas Gorge, Lara Bay a nesting ground for the protected loggerhead and green back turtles, and the Baths of Aphrodite (believed to be the bathing place of the Goddess of love and beauty).

Next to Polis is the picturesque fishing port of Latchi (Latsi), famed for its fish restaurants, Latchi is a great place to enjoy water-sports or take a boat ride to Akamas.
