The pretty village of Polis is just a 30-minute drive from the bustling resort town of Paphos, retaining its original charm it features narrow streets, relaxed tavernas and makes a great base for those looking for a relaxed and/or active holiday in real Cypriot surroundings.

The transfer time is around 60 minutes from Paphos Airport and 2 hours from Larnaca Airport.

Droushia

Just 10km from Polis is the small village of Droushia, it's set on the high ground of the Laona plateau and is a traditional village featuring old stone houses with narrow winding streets. Its position allows for a cooler climate and amazing views across Chrysochou Bay and the towns of Latchi and Polis, the Akamas Peninsula and Troodos Mountains. This small village has a choice of coffee shops, supermarket and some welcoming tavernas, a great choice for anyone seeking the experience of a typical Cypriot village.

Things to do

The region boasts some excellent opportunities to enjoy outdoor activities, such as hiking, cycling, horse-riding, diving and even golf (the Tsada Golf Course is 25mins away).

The Akamas Peninsula is within easy reach of Polis, and can be explored by boat, Jeep or foot. This scenic corner of Cyprus is a protected natures reserve and home to the deep Avakas Gorge, Lara Bay a nesting ground for the protected loggerhead and green back turtles, and the Baths of Aphrodite (believed to be the bathing place of the Goddess of love and beauty).

Next to Polis is the picturesque fishing port of Latchi (Latsi), famed for its fish restaurants, Latchi is a great place to enjoy water-sports or take a boat ride to Akamas.
