Lots of bars, cafes, restaurants and very picturesque. They have a lot of Spanish and French tourists and the local businesses often act as if no one else exists. Hence I was pleased with Hotel Casablancas refreshing attitude.

We had a car so transport was not a problem for us but there were local buses picking up outside the hotel. Peniscola is very pleasant and the Old Town below the castle is a definite must to visit. Plenty of bars and restaurants and a lovely beach.

Beaches fantastic, clean, the people so helpful and friendly. I can't wait to save the money and get back there, hopefully for longer next time. Again I've been quite a few places around the world I have never been so relaxed and happy on holiday. The staff at the hotel and the people of Peniscola made everything so easy. p.s. best holiday ever.

The beach is very popular and with many facilities such as lifeguards, children's games, beach volleyball, pedal boats and sun loungers, it is easy to see why. There are also many smaller beaches, surrounded by coves and rocky cliffs which are perfect for scuba diving and snorkelling.
The promenade runs along the main beach, all the way to the town of Benicarlo and is lined with cafes, restaurants, newsagents and shops where you will find a variety of products especially for a beach holiday.
