Pelekas Hotels Corfu, Greece

Built on a rocky hill, this charming village offers a traditional Greek feel and although there are some restaurants and a few shops nightlife is very minimal and low key. The ideal resort for those seeking a peaceful holiday.

Pelekas

Pelekas is a large village that is set on top of the hill looking down towards the beach which is a ten minute walk away. The village is typically Greek with a town square with some cafe bars and tavernas. There is plenty to do in the area whether it be relaxing on a peaceful sandy cove or sampling some of the many watersports available. The perfect end to a typical day in Pelekas has to be watching the fantastic view of Corfu's sunset.

Beach is sandy and shallow. Whilst there were water rides and sightseeing trips available I didn't go on them. Hotel evening entertainment was ok. Beach party was excellent.

There are lots of steps but if you have patience you can take the cable car to the main area, some rate it as 4 star others 5 star, I think it is 4. The staff were good, some were not as good as others but I think it is because they did not speak good English and are not confident around the Brits. Overall this is a good hotel, there are bits that need improving but I think the hotel chain is trying to do this, it takes time. Could do with a bit more entertainment but when catering for so many different nationalities this is hard.

Very hilly, but this is what makes the location stunning, there is a local bus service every 2 hours from the top of the hill, hotel provided a lift at certain times, the beach was very nice and sandy.

The views, the beach and location are brilliant. Access is difficult and if you wish to move about a car is essential.

Pelekas is a small village and has some quaint little streets but not a lot for tourists.

Beach was lovely and the resort is located at the bottom of some serious hills so if you plan to get out and about you need to be fairly mobile, but a walk round the village and a trip up to Kaisers throne will not disappoint, the view is fantastic. The village has a few shops and places to eat and is the place to catch the bus to Corfu town which is only half and hour or so on the bus.

At Pelekas village you just go back in time. There was a local in a van selling live chickens to the locals. A few lovely pubs and the views from top of village are out of this world.

Beach is clean. Sea is lovely. It's on a steep hill approach. There is not a lot to do - probably not too good for children. But it gets 5 stars from me and my wife.

The beach was OK but always crowded and the sea was littered. The beach is also popular with local people.
