Have stayed here several times and like the resort. It is very German, but that means no Brit pubs and no Stags and Hens. Very hilly away from the Boulevard but lots of bars and restaurants and shops.

Good beach and waterfront walk and a few good restaurants, but too many all-the-same gift shops and fast food outlets

Board:All Inclusive

This is a beautiful, family resort with white beaches, turquoise sea, pine woods and breathtaking views of the mountains. The main street features lots of little restaurants, bars and shops selling holiday wear or souvenirs. In the evening, there is very little traffic and it is almost like a pedestrian precinct. Shops are open 'til 10 in the evening. The atmosphere is lively, but fairly relaxed. There are some gorgeous cocktail bars right on the beach, where you can kick off your shoes and feel the sand between your toes as you watch the waves lapping under the moonlight. It is very much a family atmosphere, with no drunks in sight, just couples or families out for a meal or an evening stroll.

During the day, there is plenty going on but not too crowded. Visitors come to the town for the weekly market. There are plenty of supermarkets where you can buy fresh fruit etc. for lunch if you are not on an all inclusive deal. You can take boat trips to see other parts of the island and there are plenty of places to hire a car. There is an excellent bus service which takes you to Port Andratx - a beautiful, sleepy little harbour with excellent pierside restaurants, or to Santa Ponsa, Magauluf or Palma - where the bus connects to other resorts across the island.

Difficult to say as season hadn't really started.

The beaches

The resort of Paguera has three sandy beaches; Playa Palmira, Playa Tora and the smallest Playa la Romana. The beaches are joined by a pedestrianised promenade and each offers fine sand and clear shallow water, along with all kinds of watersports and numerous bars, cafes and restaurants.

Just 1km from Paguera is the small Cala Fornells beach, its just 100-metres by 6-metres and has a small patch of sand and rocky platforms.

Things to do

Aside from lounging on the beach or enjoying the watersports there are a number of boat trips which operate out of the resort, including a fun pirate cruise and glass bottomed boats to the Dragonera Island nature reserve, so named due to its likeness of a dragon rising out of the water.

For golfers there are two courses just minutes away, and for tennis fanatics the resort is home to Majorca's top Tennis Academy. The Paguera Tennis Centre has seen some top names train on its courts including Steffi Graf, Boris Becker, Charly Steeb and Tommy Haas.

Out and about

The main street runs the full length of the resort, known as the Boulevard it offers plenty of shops, bars, restaurants and cafes. Being a popular German holiday destination there are numerous German eateries, though the resort still offers a number of British type bars and cafes serving the full English breakfast and pub foods. Along side these a wide choice of international dining options can be found including traditional Spanish cuisine and seafood.

Paguera is a fairly lively resort with several nightclubs that are open till the early hours, there are also entertainment and karaoke bars.

Nearby attractions

The lively resort of Magaluf is just 8km from Paguera and is reachable by a local regular bus service. Magaluf offers a number of fun attractions including popular evening shows, a waterpark, go-karting and a fun-house. Its neighbour Palma Nova is home to Golf Fantasia a unique and very enjoyable crazy golf course.

The Marineland which is located in Portal Nous 10km away, is a popular attraction for families with young children, the park features an aquarium with rays and sharks, and the shows includes performing sea lions, parrots and dolphins.

Full of historical sites and museums Palma makes an ideal day excursion; visit the Gothic sights of La Seu Cathedral and Basilica de Sant Francesc, Palace de L'Almudaina found next to the cathedral and Castell de Bellver the only circular castle in Spain.
