Visited this resort 4 times and it suits us as 50+ couple, plenty of nice restaurants, bars, shops and supermarkets (if you are self catering), loads of busses and taxis to take you to Fethiye or the other resorts with beaches at a reasonable cost. There is a market on a Monday the "Talk of the town show" is very good and worth going to watch I realise its not to every ones taste but its very well done and we enjoyed it. We like this resort as its between the port and beaches so you have the variation to do different things on different days or all three as we have done on several times by hopping on and off busses .

Being a hill top valley, Ovacik has no beach but the famous beach and blue lagoon of Olu Deniz are just a 10 minutes dolmus ride away. The beach here is a sand and pebble beach with beautiful clear water and there is a variety of watersports available.
Another great beach is Patara Beach which is a beautiful sandy beach and then there is Katrinci Beach which is situated along the same route. There are bars and restaurants facing these beaches so you will be able to grab a snack or a drink whenever you want.
Things to Do
Ovacik is a quiet resort with not a lot going on which is perfect for those seeking a quiet, relaxing holiday.
Ovacik is popular with walkers as the Lycian Walk runs through Ovacik. During early and late season, the walking trails are full of walking groups and hikers who are keen to explore and admire the scenery and the nature that can be found here. These trails are also good for horse riding.
The scenery and the hills also make this the ideal spot for paragliding and micro-lighting but don't worry, you can do this as a tandem flight if you have never done it before.
One of the hotels here does have a waterpark and it is open to the public. It is not large but there are plenty of slides to keep everyone entertained.
Out and About
With Ovacik being a less developed resort, you will not find shopping centres but there are supermarkets that sell all the basics plus a selection of jewellery, clothes, shoes, bags and crafts etc. The markets here tend to sell mainly fruit and vegetables. If you feel the need to go shopping, head to Fethiye or Hisaronu where there is a far greater variety of shops.
Most of the bars and restaurants in the resort are situated along the main road through the centre of the resort although there are a few situated in the back streets and village lanes. The restaurants here offer good value at decent prices. A lot of the hotels are also open to the public and offer Turkish BBQ nights and evening entertainment which is probably as lively as it gets in Ovacik. There are plenty of bars and clubs in neighbouring resorts.
There is lots to see in the area and many of the towns nearby have ancient ruins etc to visit. There is the Lycian tombs which were carved out in the rocks about 2500 years ago, in Fethiye which is about 20 minutes away and there is the ghost town, Kayakoy which is just 15 minutes away. Here you can visit the many ruined buildings that haven't been inhabited since just after WW1.
There is the famous mud baths of Dalyan which are about half an hours drive from Ovacik. Here you can wallow in the mud then wash it off in one of the hot springs. Not only is this very relaxing but it is also great for cleansing the skin and you do feel great after it.
Take a trip to Butterfly Valley which is just 3km away and a wonderful sight. The large valley is surrounded by vertical rock and has a great variety of plants such as elm trees, eucalyptus, jasmine, mint and thyme as well as many different species of moth and butterfly. If you manage to climb to the top of the valley, you can grab a snack at the small restaurant that sits at the top.
