Malia is predominately a lively resort where 'you name it, it has it'! It is a resort that has been well established over the past decade and has a lively atmosphere where people can party until the early hours down the road that leads to the beach. Or, you can just sit in a local taverna in the Old Town enjoying the local cuisine watching the world go by. The Old Town is full of taverna's and old village style houses which provide a relaxing holiday. It is a resort of two halves and has something for everyone.Read more about: Beaches | Nearby Attractions | Quick Facts | Malia Reviews

Strip a bit too crazy for us, but loved the restaurants and other places.

Old Malia has some beautiful tavernas in the back streets. The hotel was 10 minutes walk to the top of the strip, plenty of bars and clubs to choose from - or get dragged into!

The stretch of beach runs for over 5kms and is divided into six sections which are all lined with bars and restaurants. Glozanie Beach has a great choice of watersports and the Potomas Beach is popular with the locals.
Malia's old town is a maze of cobbled streets and medieval churches which are perfect to wander around. However for those that wish to explore the nearby area, Heraklion is just a 45 minute drive away where there is a Venetian harbour, fortress and lighthouse to explore. Additionally visitors can take boat trips from the harbour to nearby resorts.
Heraklion Airport is approximately 38 km away - transfer time about 45 minutes.
