Loved going into Kusadasi. Just a short bus or taxi ride away. Very bustling and vibrant. We ate at the fantastic Casa Blanca where the food is stunning. They come and pick you up from your hotel and then drop you back off at no extra charge. We didn't go this time but a must has to be Efes. We also like a walk so we walk over to the small village Selcuk which is a nice little outing.

The market in Kusadasi is worth a visit and only a short bus ride from the hotel, the busses are brilliant between 4-5 lire each way which is approximately £1.00.

We have been going to Kusadasi every year since 1994 and it was sad to see a number of hotels, restaurants and bars shutdown. The tourists do not seem to be going to Kusadasi in the large numbers that they used to and the cruise liners are not calling there as much as before.

Our Turkey resort for the past 16 years which is now in steady decline due to hotel closures. However Kusadasi town is superb and so easy to get there using the awesome dolmus.

The transport to get into Kusadasi was brilliant cheap, and one comes along every few minutes. There is a Market every Wednsday. There are plenty of shops and jewellers if that is what you want.

Plenty of varied entertainment, from the old town to Bar Street, to the more cosmopolitan marina area. There is something for everyone and every pocket. You can eat cheaply or splash out. There is a beach in town or a short bus ride opens up many beautiful beaches and the National Park. For kids there are aqua parks, snorkelling, boat trips, jeep and horse rides to name just a few. Not to be missed is Ephesus.

We have been coming here for at least 8 years. It is a lot quieter than it used to be. Plenty of bars and places to eat. Excursions are cheaper to book with a local agent than through the rep. Water park is about 15 minutes away. Loads of shops, you must barter to get things cheap for example the starting price for a bag I liked was 180TL and I paid 50TL.

Bustling but not as busy as previous years. Only 180 cruise liners visit a year now, formerly 600. Loads of bargains, a great selection of restaurants, the owners of which will pick you up and return you to the hotel. The dolmus also stops right outside the hotel if you need some retail therapy. Excellent supermarket/superstore 10 minute walk away.

Beaches
The only beach in the town centre is Downtown Beach, located next to the marina. However there are plenty of beaches to the north and south of Kusadasi. The most popular are well served and offer a variety of water-sports and activities; these include Long Beach which is sandy and stretches for approx 6km, Ladies Beach and Kustur Beach.
Things to Do
Watch the cruise ships come in and out of Kusadasi cruise port (over 500 visit between April and November) or stroll around Kusadasi marina and maybe stop for a sundowner while you watch the sun set over the yachts.
At Kusadasi harbour you can visit the fresh fish market and even get your purchase cooked at the adjoining 24 hour Fisherman's Cafe. Near the marina, you can visit the Leather Musuem, housed in the restored buildings of the Old Tannery which dates back to the 16th century.
Escape from the town and take a picnic to Guzelcamli National Park (23km south of Kusadasi town), relax on the beaches or go hiking along the pine clad mountain trails.
Stroll along the causeway to Pigeon Island and enjoy panoramic views over Kusadasi. Take a boat trip to one of the secluded natural bays in the Kusadasi gulf or take the ferry to the Greek island of Samos.
Spend a day at one of the aqua parks which can be found 7-10km north of Kusadasi town centre; Aquapark Adaland is set in 25 acres and Aqua Fantasy is great for kids. Next to Aquapark Adaland you will find a world of dolphins, seals and sharks at Dolphinpark Adaland and Seapark Adaland.
Out and About
Shopping in Kusadasi is great with a whole range of goods to choose from. There are genuine designer brand boutiques, bars and cafes in the Scala Nuevo shopping centre at Kusadasi Harbour and a further modern shopping centre at Kusadasi Marina, complete with bars, fast food outlets and restaurants.
The 3 main bazaars are full of Turkish shops selling everything from Turkish tea to carpets, jewellery and clothes. There are also 3 weekly street markets. The Wednesday market sells textiles and the Tuesday and Friday markets have an authentic local atmosphere with stalls selling food and local farm produce.
You will find an active and lively nightlife on Bar Street and around the town where there are plenty of bars and nightclubs to keep you entertained until dawn.
Nearby Attractions
The inland village of Kirazli (14km east of Kusadasi town) is set in a fertile valley with an abundance of olive groves, cherry orchards, grape vines and nut trees. Follow hiking trails through the countryside or enjoy the traditional atmosphere of the village, buy produce from local cottage industries at the Sunday Market and dine at an authentic Turkish restaurant.
At the ancient city of Ephesus, you can explore well preserved ruins of the city streets of buildings, temples and monuments. A guided trip might also include a visit to the sacred House of the Virgin Mary which is nearby.
