Beaches

This is an inland village but the beaches of the south coast are only a short drive away. You can choose from deserted natural beaches on the outskirts of El Medano (11km) or it's famous surfing beaches. Alternatively you could head to the sweeping sands of Los Cristianos (23km) or the string of beaches at Playa de las Americas and along the Costa Adeje.

Things to Do

Explore the Teide National Park. Whether you follow moderate walking trails, arduous hiking trails or hop on a tour bus, there is some amazing scenery to be seen around the park surrounding the volcano. You can take the cable car to the summit of Mount Teide, which is the highest point in Spain.

Visit the village of Vilaflor, on the edge of the Teide National Park. There are buses from Granadilla or you can drive there in approx 25 minutes. You might like to take a scenic walk back down the hill around the Montana Colorada (approx two and a quarter hours).

Pleasure cruises, sports fishing trips, scuba diving adventures and endless water based activities such as jet-skiing and banana boats are readily available along the south west coast.

There are four 18 hole golf courses within 25 minutes drive, the nearest being Amarilla Golf and Golf del Sur (13km).

Out and About

For fresh produce you can pick your own veg (or buy off the shelf) at the Agoabona Co-operative which is just outside the village or you have the farmers market at the neighbouring village of San Isidro (5km).

Near the village of San Miguel (5km), evening dinner at the Castillo de San Miguel comes in the form of a Medieval banquet complete with jousting tournaments.

Nearby Attractions

Approx 15 minutes drive south, you will find the neighbouring resorts of El Medano, Los Abrigos and Golf del Sur, each of which has a very different character. El Medano is world famous for wind surfing and kite boarding and has a laid back atmosphere. Los Abrigos is a fishing village with some excellent fresh fish restaurants around the harbour. Golf del Sur is popular with the British and home to golf courses, country clubs and San Miguel Marina.
