Coma Ruga is very family friendly, it has a market stretching along the seafront outside the hotel each evening which gave it a lovely buzz, it is just right for playing on the beach and eating ice creams. We got the train to Barcelona which I'd really recommend, it was easy to do and cost about 33 euros for the 4 of us and was a great day out.

Entertainment was not enough and the staff all the time speak only Spanish!

Very good beach mostly occupied by Spanish with a small percentage of other Europeans. Lacks the hustle and bustle of other resorts on this coastline, few British tourists, good transport links to Barcelona by car or train. Perfect for a short relaxing break.

It can be reached by train from Barcelona Airport within 1 and a half hour conveniently and cheaply. Not a quite busy place with long wide sandy beach and gentle waves ideal with smaller kids. Some attractions can be found for this age group although the nearest water/theme park is a bit far by public transport.<br /> You need cash in Spain because you cannot pay by card below 15 euros in most places but Coma-ruga is not well-equipped with ATM's so you have to get ready for a good walk.

Lovely beach and lovely promenade but nothing opened. A couple of bars had been open but closed during our stay. Walked for miles each way along the promenade and no bars to stop off at. No shops either. Nothing for kids to do, luckily we had our own full itinerary out with the hotel (Natura Park).

Coma Ruga is a small resort but has a lovely beach and some restaurants. You can catch the train at San Vincent calders to all the resorts. Fabulous!

Beaches

The coastline of the Costa Dorada is well known for its long stretches of golden sand and clear waters and Coma Ruga is no exception. The clear waters and gently sloping sands are just perfect for children playing whilst adults can relax and enjoy the sun. There are sun loungers and umbrellas available and plenty of facilities nearby. A variety of water sports such as water skiing, jet skiing, sailing and banana boat rides are available.

Out and About

The village offers a handful of bars and restaurants to enjoy during your stay. There is not much in the way of nightlife, although some of the bars will stay open quite late.

There are a few shops in Coma Ruga and visitors can enjoy a wander round the local markets that are held several times a week. Markets sell a variety of goods such as locally made pottery and jewellery.

Nearby Attractions

Although there is not a lot going on in Coma Ruga itself, there is plenty going on in the surrounding area.

There is an 18 hole pitch and putt course just 2km away. The course is great and although some of the fairways can be quite challenging it is great fun for all the family.

The city of Tarragona is just 24km away and full of Roman architecture and plenty to see and do. Barcelona is less than an hour away and well worth a visit. There are some amazing buildings to see, dancing fountains and plenty of opportunity for shopping.

The busy resort of Salou is not far away and offers plenty of shops, bars, restaurants, activities for all the family and of course a beautiful, long stretch of beach. Port Aventura theme park is just outside Salou and offers some fantastic rides and attractions for all ages. There is also a water park which again, is great fun for all the family and an excellent way to keep cool.
