Beaches

There are no beaches in Chayofa itself but there are plenty to choose from just a short drive away. Los Cristianos is approx 5km away (10 minute drive) and there are long and wide sandy beaches on both sides of it's harbour. You can walk for miles along the Costa Adeje coast line, taking your pick of beaches from Playa de las Americas to El Duque.

Things to Do

Chayofa Tennis Academy is located at Chayofa Country Club and has numerous floodlit tennis courts and a fitness gym with coaches and personal trainers available.

Play golf. There are 5 golf courses within 20 minutes drive of Chayofa; the nearest being Golf Las Americas (4km) which lies between Chayofa and Playa de las Americas. There is also Golf Los Palos (10km), Golf Costa Adeje (12km), Golf del Sur (14km) and Amarilla Golf Club (15km).

Las Aguilas Jungle Park is just a short walk from the centre of Chayofa (600 metres) and is set in lush landscaping. The wildlife park is home to leopards and tigers, all sorts of monkeys and other animals. Other attractions in the park include bird shows, sea lion shows, the Jungle Raid (a circuit of rope bridges and tunnels); and the speedy bob sled.

La Camella Camel Park (1km) is located on the outskirts of Chayofa. Here you can take a camel ride through the rural surroundings, visit the little farm and stop for a bite in the restaurant.

Out and About

There are few amenities in Chayofa, but there is a large supermarket, a large medical centre and a handful of restaurants. The Tree House pub is, styled like a rustic English country pub, has a garden with children's area, pool, darts, large screen TV with sports channels and English Sunday roasts. In contrast, La Estancia restaurant is set in a restored plantation house and offers a gourmet menu of French and Mediterranean cuisine.

For designer shopping, head for Plaza del Duque (8km) or pop down the hill to Playa de las Americas and spend the evening at the Safari Centre.

Nearby Attractions

From the harbour in Los Cristianos (5km) you can take cruises, fishing trips or diving tours. You can even get the ferry to the neighbouring island of La Gomera.

Siam Park (2km) is set amid attractive Thai inspired landscaping and a family friendly environment with a good variety of water-slides, a lazy river, a large wave pool, a diner and food terrace.
