The beach

The sandy Camp de Mar beach has calm clear water and is around 180-metres in length with an average width of 60-metres. The beach has loungers, parasols and pedalos available to hire and there is a small island, linked by a wooden footbridge and which has a restaurant covering its entire surface.

Just 200-metres from the main beach is the Es Raco de Camp de Mar (also known as the Ses Dones beach), it's 150-metres long and only 5-metres wide with a very-gently shelving seabed.

Out and about

Within the resort there are number of bars, cafes and restaurants, including one (known locally as 'Alcatraz') that's found on its own little island in the bay which is accessed by a wooden walkway from the beach. The usual shops can be found along the main road with all the holiday essentials readily available. The nearest weekly market takes place in Andratx which is just a 15-minute bus ride away.

Nearby attractions

For a taste of real Majorca visit the traditional town of Andratx with its winding and cobbled streets just 5km inland. The town has some great restaurants and bars, and is also home to a large weekly market.

If you have access to a car there a plenty of nearby attractions offering entertainment for all ages, the lively resort of Magaluf is around 12km away and offers a number of fun attractions including popular evening shows, a waterpark, go-karting and a fun-house. Its neighbour Palma Nova is home to Golf Fantasia a unique and very enjoyable crazy golf course. A little further along the coast in Portal Nous is Marineland, a popular attraction for families with young children, the park features an aquarium with rays and sharks, and the shows includes performing sea lions, parrots and dolphins.

Full of historical sites and museums Palma makes an ideal day excursion; visit the Gothic sights of La Seu Cathedral and Basilica de Sant Francesc, Palace de L'Almudaina found next to the cathedral and Castell de Bellver the only circular castle in Spain.
