There is nothing there, only a street with 2 bakers, a few supermarkets very small. Beach has a great taverna, plus sun beds and a few sports.

Great holiday, as always the people of Corfu are very friendly. The beach was pebbles, which is fine for those that don't want sand to get every where! the sea was very calm, great for snorkelling. You will have a great time here.

Great resort, fairly quiet, with the restaurants and shops on two levels, on the road, and down by the sea. Some good restaurants and taverns - Bahia Mare our favourite.

Quiet, scenic and clean sums up the place. Locals were even lovely. Bars weren't very busy for cocktails at night but it's so chilled. Some nice and reasonably priced restaurants too. Great place if you want to wind down for your stay.

Barbati has an awful lot to offer with some great tavernas both in the town and down on the beach. It seems a shame though that a lot of self-catering apartments have been built but seemingly the guests using them are not experiencing and using the local tavernas, preferring to buy their own food in perhaps? As a result, the tavernas were all pretty quiet whilst we were there. Plenty of things to do from the beach. Snorkelling is great, even just a couple of metres from the shore there are loads of fish. Highly recommend using one of the boat hirers on the beach. We used Spiros (who is the middle one) for two days hire. Had a wonderful day pottering up the coast and dropping anchor to swim to little beaches which can not be reached any other way. Also highly recommend a visit to Kerasia, further up the coast but one of the best family run Tavernas I have ever been to.

Barbati is a quiet resort with just a handful of bars and restaurants, some on the road running through and some on the main stretch of beach. All of them were great, no bad experiences, just prices varied a lot. I would definitely recommend the quieter beach accessed at the end of the village by some steep steps, lovely quiet and clear blue. Also if you get there extra early in the morning you can see the dolphins in the bay.

Beaches

Barbati Beach has been awarded a Blue Flag and offers a mile long stretch of shingle beach which is fringed by a few tavernas. The road down to the beach is steep and therefore may not be suitable for those with walking difficulties.

Nearby Attractions

On the beach at Barbati is the ancient church of St Nikolas which is very pretty and worth the walk along the beach to visit. For those seeking to visit the island's capital, Corfu Town, a regular bus service operates the 20 km journey. Here visitors can wander the streets of the Old Town, museums, churches and the 16th century fortress.

Quick Facts

Corfu Airport is approximately 16 km away - transfer time about 30 minutes.
