Just round the corner from the hotel there is a fabulous restaurant/tapas called Café Concho, family run, very friendly and great value place. They do a fabulous Paella on a Sunday, full plate 5 Euros! No sign of currency exchange places and we had taken enough Euros with us, so not a problem, but bear that in mind if going there.

Beach is downhill and a bit shingly. Beware the sand gets very hot so footwear a must, so the nearer the waters edge to sit at the better! Hire of a bed is only 4 Euros, fantastic! Lovely to walk along promenade (even into Roquetas Del Mar) either during day or evening, very few touts or touristy type shops.

A quiet town of about 15,000 inhabitants. It has lovely weather and attracts tourists mainly from Spain and other European countries: Germany, France, Scandinavia, Holland as well as a few from UK. Only about 12km from the city of Almeria which is quiet interesting to visit and only 20 minutes on the bus.

A smaller resort than nearby Roquetas de Mar it has a nice but compact sandy beach with promenade and landscaping.

Lovely beach but area isolated from main Roquetas de Mar town. Also the season does not appear to start until at least June as a number of restaurants and bars were closed. Almeria is certainly worth a visit - and bus fares are very cheap.

Aguadulce is not a lively resort destination. It has a very nice beach, good sea for swimming and when calm, some snorkelling. There is a very long promenade which is pleasant for walking and popular with joggers. There are plenty of good quality, reasonably priced tapas bars and restaurants along the sea front. The town doesn't have much to offer tourists, but you can take a bus into Almeria if you want to explore quite a pleasant city.

This was our second visit to Aguadulce, which is a small very Spanish town, catering mainly for older people (very few Brits), no British or Irish pubs! Plenty of places to walk, great seafront, cheap tapas bars, lovely beach and sea. There is an excellent scuba diving centre at the port. It's about a 20 minute bus ride into Almeria city centre, plenty to explore there. The weather is very good, but it can get a bit windy from the Atlantic direction which cools the sea a bit. Overall a great place, hope to return again next year.

Aguadulce is a lovely family resort, which is very Spanish, with very few English tourists ( no English pubs or all day English Breakfast establishments) just little tapas bars, cafes and fish restaurants. Would love to back again, as this was such a relaxing place.

Very Spanish resort. Good range of bars and restaurants with excellent meat and fish recipes on their menus. The large market on Thursday at Las Salinas, Roquetas del Mar has a wide variety of stalls with fantastic offerings of fruit and vegetables. For some reason there are a lot of stalls selling good quality, low priced socks?

Beaches

The long sand and pebble blue flag beach runs from the Marina for approx 2.5km with beach bars and activities, such as pedalo hire, at regular intervals. The waters are clear and the beach is backed by a pleasant palm-lined pathway. The other side of the road is lined with restaurants, pavement cafes, apartments and hotels.

Things to Do

If you like a long walk, you can walk along the beach path from the Marina to the edge of the resort and continue along the beach all the way into Roquetas de Mar (approx 5km).

At the top end of the resort there is a large marina, giving you access to boat hire, a sailing school and a diving centre offering snorkelling and diving trips, a pool, hookah diving, a dive shop and Padi Courses. For golfers, La Envia Golf Course is approx 5km away.

Out and About

Behind the marina, there is an attractive white collonaded building housing a number of shops, bars and restaurants, offering a lively nightlife in the summer season.

For family fun, waterparks can be found at Vera Playa and Roquetas de Mar and these are open from June to September.

Nearby Attractions

Aguadulce has good road links to access all parts of the Costa Almeria and regular buses into Almeria (8km). The livelier resort of Roquestas de Mar and the historic Santa Ana Castle are approx 7km away.

Cabo de Gata-Nijar natural park and coastal reserve covers acres and acres of diverse grounds including salt marshes, cliffs, sand dunes and secluded coves. The park has a visitor centre and will appeal to all nature lovers and sight-seers, whether you want to drive around taking in breathtaking views, visit filmsets, snorkel in the coves or observe the variety of fauna, birds and wildlife.

The Oasys Theme Park is set in the Tabernas Desert and features a Wild West Town complete with Can Can girls in the saloon, shows, a lovely zoo, a cactus garden and places to eat and drink. Drive further into the desert for more Wild West fun and shows at Fort Bravo.
