Where the Santa Marina Beach Hotel is situated in Agia Marina there are several restaurants and several shops but basically very quiet. The beach is ideal for youngsters as the sea is nice and shallow with lifeguards always in attendance. This resort has a "fun train" which is ideal for children and older people which has got several routes everyday, well worth using to travel to places you wouldn't go to normally.

Lovely resort , very long beach with a mixture of shingle in places but fine golden sands if you walk on a bit further - the best end for water sports being directly opposite the offshore island.

The bonus to this resort is evening entertainment, lots of choices of Tavernas in Agia Marina and even more if prepared to make a short walk to the many bars and tavernas in the next resort Platania ,and the Square which is lively.

The beach is a 2.5km stretch of sand and has been awarded the Blue Flag for cleanliness. There is a good selection of watersports available or for those that prefer to relax, sunloungers are laid out for hire. Due to its length, the beach never really gets crowded even in the peak season.
The former capital city of Chania is just a 20 minute local bus ride away and here is a Venetian style harbour lined with tavernas and bars. Additionally visitors to Chania can visit the Turkish mosque, 17th century fortress and lighthouse. The local bus service which runs frequently into Chania and Platanias is just a short walk away.
Chania Airport is approximately 29 km away - transfer time approx. 40 minutes.
