Short Breaks

Short breaks 2021/2022

Need a holiday escape but short on time? Be more savvy with your trips abroad by turning them into a short break or weekend break instead and you’ll get more trips away for your pounds. Fancy a break during half term but also need a few days to sort things out at home? Or running out of annual leave? Then short holidays are the one for you!

More holidays throughout the year

If you split your holidays up into smaller more frequent ones, you’ll fit more opportunity to go abroad throughout the year than if you were taking longer ones. A week in Gran Canaria and maybe another week in Cyprus sounds lovely, but does it sound as tempting as a few days in each – plus a few days away in Greece, Majorca and Turkey? All of this in one year - we don’t know about you, but we’re definitely feeling it.

Short haul destinations for your break

Crystal-clear waters and soft sands can be reached very easily from the UK. Europe is home to some of the best beaches in the world. And with most European countries under a four-hour flight from us, there’s plenty of choice for a short haul break - you’ll spend less time on planes and more time under the sun’s rays!

Malaga on Spain’s Costa del Sol is a great destination, the beaches are just a short walk from the bustling city centre so you won’t be wasting time travelling long distances to do everything on your travel list! A favourite of ours is the Canary Islands with each one offering so much to see and so, you could easily fit a typical weeks’ worth of activities into a short break with plenty of time to lounge by the pool! Take Lanzarote – in just one day you could be at the top of Mount Timanfaya in the morning, spend the afternoon feeling zen on a black sand beach and then explore the capital, Arrecife and enjoy some fresh fish in the evening.

You can fit in more than you’d think

Just because you’re at your chosen destination a few days short of a full week, it doesn’t mean you won’t be able to fit everything in. It just means your days will be a little busier – take city breaks, a lot of holidaymakers choose to spend a few days in Paris, New York and Rome and they all manage to see and do everything they want at least once – bearing in mind a lot of city break locations are a lot bigger than a small Greek island. Just because you’re heading somewhere ‘beachy’ like Tenerife or Crete, it doesn’t mean you need any more than a few days there. You’ll feel like you’ve achieved a lot during your trip and if often helps us holidaymakers to plan ahead better for activities to do whilst on holiday.
