Wailea

Wailea is a luxurious resort with five crescent shaped beaches, several championship golf courses, designer shops, award-winning restaurants and five star hotels. Kahului Airport is around 35 minutes away.

Beaches

The Makena Beach is set just south of Wailea and offers a beautiful stretch of sandy beach which is perfect for swimming. There are two beaches - the Big Beach which is the main part and the Little Beach which is just over a hill at the end of the Big Beach.

Things to See and Do

Ahihi-Kina'u Natural Area Reserve is an offshore reserve which offers great snorkelling opportunities where sea turtles can often be seen. Alternatively the popular La Perouse Bay which is where the lava from Maui's last eruption flowed into the sea. Although this bay isnt recommended for swimming there are some stunning walking trails including the Hoapili Trail.
