This Sofitel Capsis Palace is located on a private peninsula just 20 minutes from the Cosmopolitan City of Heraklion and next to the fishing village of Aghia Pelaghia. The village is within walking distance of the complex and offers a variety of minimarkets, shops, tavernas and restaurants.

The hotel was chosen as the Official Hotel for the 2004 Olympic Football Tournaments in Heraklion and therefore offers an extensive program of activity as you would expect. There are a total of five pools (one private swimming pool with freshwater for the Sofitel Capsis Palace Hotel guests only, one indoor freshwater swimming pool, two additional swimming pools, including one with freshwater and one with seawater, and one seawater children's swimming pool). The activities that are available are basketball and volleyball court, tennis courts, darts, billiards, cards, bridge, minigolf, watersports centre, PADI-approved Scuba Diving Centre, health beauty and fitness centre, disco, open air amphitheatre for animation shows.

For the children there is a daily program with sports and activities, children's playground, children's pool, a mini club with a playroom and special children's menus.

The hotel offers a multi-lingual animation team who organise games, shows, mini-football games, water polo, aqua aerobics, step aerobics, tennis/table tennis tournaments and children's games. Greek cooking lessons are also given at the pool edge.
In addition guests can enjoy night entertainment at the disco which serves a large variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and snacks.
