Santa Eulalia, Ibiza, Spain
The resort offers a palm lined promenade running the length of the sandy beach. There is exclusive shopping, good restaurants and excellent bars. The transfer time is 30 minutes.
In the heart of Santa Eulalia the long sandy beach is backed by the promenade and lies next to the prestigious Marina. The waters are shallow and clear, ideal for children and swimming. There are several diving schools in the resort and other water activities available include jet skis, water skiing, sailing, parasailing, banana boats and pedalos.
Santa Eulalia beach continues south to a narrow river, harbouring many smaller boats. If you cross the bridge at the river and continue south you will reach the Calo de S'Alga beach. North of the Marina there is a string of south-facing mini resorts with coves and sandy beaches in a more rural setting.
Things to Do
Take the tourist train through the countryside and pine woods that surround the resort to picturesque inland villages, charming fishing coves and east coast beaches. On Saturdays the train even runs into San Carlos for the colourful Las Dalias Hippy Market.
From the marina you can take a scenic cruise around the coast or use the regular ferry for trips into Ibiza Town. Spend a day on the neighbouring island of Formentera, known for its long beaches and excellent shops and stalls selling handicrafts and original artisan pieces.
From the river, follow the information boards and walk up the hill to the Puig de Missa, a peaceful little church with a small museum and panoramic views over Santa Eulalia.
Out and About
Stroll around the marina, along the promenade and alongside the river and its picturesque little harbour. There are many bars, cafes and restaurants along the promenade and around the Marina to choose from.
Just back from the beach, the tree-lined Calle San Jaime is a great place to be during the day for pavement cafes and the vibrant atmosphere continues in the evening at the restaurants on Calle San Vicente. The town also has plenty of shops, boutiques and art galleries to browse around.
The resort is well served by the local bus network and it is easy to visit the charming and characterful Ibiza Town or the popular Hippy Markets at Es Cana and San Carlos. Ibiza Golf Club is approx 5km south of the town.
