Beaches

Playa del Ingles has a long, sandy beach and is backed by a promenade packed with bars and cafes.

The beach is wide and well serviced and you can walk for miles along the sands and into the vast Maspalomas dunes. Despite being very popular, particularly near the bars and cafes, the beach is very long so you can alway find a quiet spot and there are also sections recognised as a nudist beach and a gay beach.

Things to Do

The resort offers a good availability of water sports including jet-skis, kayaking, banana boats and scuba diving as well as many other activities from cycling and hiking tours to horse-riding and camel safaris; jeep and quad bike adventures to dolphin spotting and swimming with sea lions.

Annual events which take place at Playa del Ingles include the Easter Carnival and the fireworks which accompany the Funeral of the Sardine. In May, the Yumbo Centre is the venue for Gay Pride, comprising a week of partying with shows and parades.

Out and About

Playa del Ingles is packed with hundreds of bars, cafes and restaurants, most of which are located in large shopping centres. The main centres in the heart of the resort are the Kasbah, the Metro and the Maspalomas Plaza; for gay nightlife the Yumbo and the Cita are popular and, near the beach you have the Annexo centres and the Tropical.

Playa del Ingles is known for its lively nightclubs and comedy drag shows, which makes it particularly popular with couples and groups.

Nearby Attractions

Just outside of the resort you will find Holiday World amusement park (1km), Aqualand Water Park (4km), the wild west themed adventure park of Sioux City (10km) and the zoo and gardens at Palmitos Park (12km). There are golf courses in the neighbouring resorts of Maspalomas and Las Meloneras and excellent karting circuits at Bahia Feliz (10km).
