Out and About

Paros is one of the most popular destinations in Greece and offers a great combination of non-stop holiday fun and nightlife and quieter villages for a more laid-back peaceful atmosphere.

If you don't fancy lying on a beach all day, there are so many other things to see and do, there will never be a dull moment. For something a little different, why not take a trip to Kalogiros, where you can have a clay treatment. This natural treatment is great fun and really good for your skin too.

For another great day out, take a trip to the archaeological museum and the cathedral that dates back to 326 AD at Pirakia, the Valley of the Butterflies at Petaloudes or simply take a tour of all the pretty little villages, from the picturesque harbour town of Naoussa to the traditional mountain village of Lefkes.

With unique weather conditions and great sandy beaches, Paros is a haven for windsurfers and is recognised as one of the top 3 sites in the world and regularly hosts the World Cup. Scuba-diving is another popular sport, providing great conditions for beginners and experts. For something a little more relaxing, why not set sail and do a little island hopping and visit nearby Naxos, Mykonos, Santorini and Antiparos.

If you prefer to have your feet on dry land, take to the hills and explore the wonderful scenery off the beaten track and follow the famous walking trail, the Byzantine Trail. Other great ways to explore the many traditional villages and ancient churches is on horseback or bike.

Out for Lunch!

Paros serves a traditional Greek cuisine with some excellent local produce to try. Have a try of Gouna which is roasted mackerel, Karavalous, snails with a delicious sauce or Petimezinia and Pumpkin pie, local sweets. If it s a traditional restaurant serving local produce, feel free to ask a local resident the best place to head to, that way you can get a typical Greek meal in a relaxing taverna.

You can find International restaurants around the resort as well as traditional ones. You will also find a good choice of snack bars, ice-cream parlours and fast food outlets. In Parikia most of the restaurants and tavernas are on the right of the port towards Argo Beach. To the left of the port there are numerous cafes, pizzerias and snack bars. Something for every taste buds.
