Nuevo Horizonte

Within walking distance of the neighbouring resort of Caleta de Fuste, where the nightlife is livelier. The resort is ideal for those looking for a relaxing holiday. The resort is just a short 15 minute transfer from the airport.

Beaches

Whilst there is not a beach at Nuevo Horizonte, the sea front promenade makes for a pleasant walk into neighbouring Caleta de Fuste. You can leave the promenade at the Castillo San Jorge Hotel and head into the town or, keep walking round to the harbour area and the main beach. Cruises and fishing trips run out of Caleta de Fuste harbour, where there is also a diving centre.

Things to Do

There are two 18 hole golf courses in Caleta de Fuste, The Golf Club Salinas de Antigua and the Fuerteventura Golf Club. The latter surrounds the Elba Palace Golf Hotel and a handy shuttle bus runs to and from the Castillo de Elba Aparthotel in Nuevo Horizonte, via the Atlantico Shopping Centre.

The Oasis Park also provide a free shuttle bus service to/from Nuevo Horizonte so you can spend time in the natural surroundings of the animal park and gardens, stop for lunch and maybe, take a camel safari for some memorable views across the island.

The capital city of Puerto del Rosario is just 11km away, where you can go shopping in the Las Rotundas Centre or, if you fancy a bit of island hopping, ferries depart from the port for Lanzarote, Tenerife and Gran Canaria.

The fabulous sand dunes of the Corralejo Natural Park and the extensive sands of Flag Beach, a world famous location for windsurfing and kitesurfing, are approx 33km away. In Corralejo there is also a waterpark and a harbour providing opportunities for boat trips to the island of Lobos or a fast ferry to Lanzarote.

Out and About

Just a 5 minute drive from Fuerteventura Airport, Nuevo Horizonte is centrally located and makes a good base for exploring the island or spending lazy days relaxing around the swimming pool. The resort is approached by a long, straight road lined either side by tall conifers and is set into a hillside with great views over the sea.

There are bars, sports bars, takeaways and restaurants in the resort with a further choice just a five minute taxi ride away in Caleta de Fuste.

Nearby Attractions

To the north of the resort you can see the Tindaya Mountain and volcanic landscapes visiting the village of VillaVerde and the Caves of Lanos, the traditional town of La Oliva, the charming Alcogida EcoMuseum at Tefia.

To the south of Nuevo Horizonte, inland and mountain villages include the picturesque Betancuria, its museums and artisan workshops or, along the coast, the working fishing towns of Gran Tarajal and Tarajalejo.
