Located on the beach, the Gran Vetana Beach Resort is within walking distance of the Play Dorada Shopping Plaza where some bars and restaurants can also be found. The airport is only 15km away.

Facilities at the hotel include a large free form pool, smaller pool, children's pool, towels and loungers at the beach and pool, several bars and restaurants, gym, sauna, massage, beauty salon, gift shop, currency exchange, car and motorbike rental, safety deposit boxes (local charge), kid's club, daily activities and nightly entetainment. Sporting activities include bicycles, windsurfing, snorkelling, kayaks, sailing, tennis, scuba diving, water skiing, jet skiing, deep sea fishing and banana boat rides (some activities are limited to one hour per day and may attract an extra charge).

Superior guest rooms, junior suites and penthouses are all available at the resort. Each room has 2 double beds or 1 king size bed, hairdryer, cable TV, direct dial telephone, safety deposit box (extra charge), mini bar which is re stocked daily, ceiling fan, air conditioning and terrace or balcony, some with ocean views.

The All Inclusive programme consists of breakfast, lunch and dinner, all served buffet style in the Las Almejas cafeteria. Milk, coffee, juice and various other national drinks are offered with meals. Lunch is also available at the beach club between noon and 3pm. Dinner is available from the Ocean Grill, Octopus Gourmet restaurant which serves Caribbean cuisine and the Sapore Di Mare which serves Italian cuisine. Snacks such as hamburgers, salads, sandwiches and hot dogs are available from the beach club from 12pm to 5pm. Non alcoholic and locally produced alcoholic drinks are available from the lobby bar from 4pm to midnight, the pool/swim up bar from 10am to 6pm, the pool terrace bar from 10am to midnight, the beach club bar from noon to 5pm, the Cococ beach bar from 10am to 3pm and the Tiki pool bar from 10am to 10pm. The late night snack bar also serves snacks, soda and beer until 2am.
