Elounda is a typical Greek resort which maintains much of its original charm. As well as a variety of cafes and bars situated along the harbour, there are many luxury yachts coming and going. Another great area for people watching is the town square with many pubs and discos that become quite lively at night. The pretty beach is great for swimming and a variety of watersports.

Elounda is a typical Greek resort which maintains much of its original charm. It benefits from a large man-made sandy beach and would be suitable for families and couples looking for a relaxed atmosphere (please note that is does become lively in the peak summer months). Elounda's pretty harbour is full of activity with colourful fishing boats bobbing up and down and be sure to sit in one of the bars and tavernas and watch the comings and goings of the locals. It is located approximately 10 km from Aghios Nikolaos so makes an ideal base to explore Crete. Transfer time is approximately 2 hours by coach or 1hour 20 minutes by private taxi.
