Things to Do
Although the beaches are a big attraction in Cambrills, there are plenty of other things to see and do such as El Pescador Park which is situated right next to the tourist information office. The park has been beautifully landscaped with many tropical and Mediterranean plants and has 3 children's playgrounds, a cafe/bar and an outdoor stage which is used for various concerts and festivals throughout the summer.
Not only can you visit the castle but you can also visit the museum, both of which are of cultural and historical interest. There is also a lighthouse in Cambrills, not only is it a great place to take pictures from but it is also a great place to watch the sunset.
If sightseeing is not your thing, then why not discover the countryside on horseback or bike. There are loads of paths to follow so get out and about and enjoy the fresh air. There are also a few golf courses nearby which is another great way of taking in the fantastic views.
Out and About
Cambrils is a lot more peaceful than the neighbouring Salou but there is still plenty going on with many seafood restaurants, tapas style restaurants, bars and a few discos. Although there are some discos, nightlife is generally low-key in Cambrils but if you are out to party into the early hours than a trip to Salou is the perfect solution.
As well as the many seafood restaurants and tapas bars, there are many traditional little shops to be found in the narrow lanes and streets, offering a variety of things such as souvenirs, leather goods, perfumes and supermarkets. There is a larger selection in the nearby Salou and a large shopping mall can be found in the city of Tarragona which is just along the coast.
There is plenty to do in Cambrils but if you want to venture out of the resort for the day, there is plenty to do in the area, such as the botanical gardens of Parc Sama which are just 4km away. The gardens are beautiful and feature a large lake with 3 islands and a large medieval tower which is worth a look. This is a great place to relax and admire the surroundings.
The Ebro Delta Natural Park is also located close by with the opportunity to take a boat trip across the mouth of the river Ebro. The area is also well known for its vineyards and it is possible to take a tour of the wineries.
The medieval village of Montblanc is well worth a visit and is host to a medieval festival towards the end of April each year. There is so much to see here, such as the city walls, the town's main square, the Palace and the Monastery. The village is steeped in history and is a must see whilst in the area.
For those who are looking for a little adventure, you have to visit Port Aventura Theme Park. The park is split into different areas, each with it's own attractions and restaurants. There are roller coasters for those who dare and tame rides for the less daring, all in all there is something for everyone. There is also a water park right next to the theme park which is just great.
If it's more sightseeing you are after, take a trip to Barcelona. Barcelona is home to many cultural sights, dancing fountains, dining and fantastic shopping and really is a great day out from start to finish.
