Mijas Costa boasts 12 km of sandy beaches many of which have promenades with cafes, bars and restaurants. Most of the beaches have blue flag status which are ideals for children to play safely. The crystal clear waters offer perfect swimming conditions and are also superb for snorkelling and scuba diving.
Things to do
For the adventurous holiday maker there are plenty of thrilling water sports available such as jet skiing, water skiing and windsurfing, for those seeking a more relaxing entertainment boat trips and excursions are widely available. Donkey rides along the beach are always a firm favourite with the children. Mijas Water Park is also a family favourite with swimming pools, slides, chutes, wave pools and lakes providing hours of fun and splashing around for all ages.
Golf enthusiasts with appreciate the choice of golf courses with a number of excellent courses in area.
Out and about
There is a good variety of restaurants in the resort, many of which are family friendly offering special menus for children. There are many venues offering family friendly evening entertainment such as flamenco shows and music. For those who want to dance or party the night away there are a number of late night bars and clubs in the area but for a livelier evening head along to Torremolinos which is just 20 minutes away.
Nearby attractions
The popular resort of Fuengirola is only 10 minutes away and offers a whole host of activities and entertainment - the zoo is always popular with families. The largest theme park on the Costa del Sol, Tivoli World, is just 20 minutes away in Benalmadena and offers fantastic rides and entertainment for all ages and is a great day out.
