Aghios Nikolaos boasts many attractive cafes and local shops where you can buy Cretan gifts such as ceramics, leatherware, jewellery and Raki (the local spirit).

The harbour provides an endless array of boat trips with the trip to Spinalonga Island being amongst the favoured. Aghios Nikolaos also provides small sandy and shingle beaches for sun worshippers.

The transfer time by coach is approximately 2 hours and 1 hour 30 minutes by taxi.
