Agadir

This modern city has a fantastic beach which stretches for a good 6km. The city offers a wide variety of food, activities and nightlife.

Beaches

Spanning 10km, Agadir beach is blessed with dark golden sands and panoramic views over the bay. The water is clear and watersports are available, such as water bikes and parascending. However, the big ocean waves are more suited to surfing than swimming.

Things to Do

There are a number of public parks and gardens in Agadir, including the Jardin de Olhao. There is also a Marina where you will find designer shops and an attractive setting for lunch or an evening meal.

The Vallee des Oiseaux is set in pleasant gardens and has a bird park, small animals and play areas for children. It is located next to the station for the road train which runs around the resort.

Golf de L'Ocean golf course is located on the outskirts of the city and features an 18 hole course, a 9 hole course, a driving range, an Academy and a clubhouse.

Out and About

The promenade is approx 5km long and runs from the centre of the beach to the Marina with plenty of bars, cafes and places to sit along the way. Agadir promenade is wide, level and well lit at night, making for a lovely seafront walk at any time of the day. If you're feeling active (not in the heat of the midday sun) there is some outdoor gym equipment in place and, you won't look out of place if you want to run, jog, cycle or roller-blade.

If you make your way up the hill to the Kasbah you will be rewarded with amazing views over Agadir, the harbour and the bay.

Nearby Attractions

Taghazout Beach (18km north) has a wilder setting with a mountainous backdrop. This beach has long, wide golden sands (approx 8km long) and the waves are very popular with surfers. Here you can take a camel ride along the beach, go horse-riding through the countryside or stroll across to the village for lunch.
