It’s incentive time again! As a valued member of the sunshine team, we want to keep you inspired about our holidays. As you maybe aware Travel Agents go on “educationals” or familiarity (fam) trips to help them get a first hand knowledge of the product they are selling. Despite the rumours this isn’t always a 7 day alcohol fuelled jolly.

We’d like to send you on a fam trip to keep those creative juices flowing and submerse you in the area you’re going to be writing about. Here’s the cool part - you get to set your own itinerary! Yup, you can pick where you stay and when. We’ll even let you take someone along for company! Obviously there are a few rules which are as follows…
- include the URL of the site you’ll be using to promote this resort/region
- submit a full itinerary with choice of dates for flights and hotels
- stay in at least 3 different hotels in 7 nights, each with a different rating on our site
- include a sentence or two on why you’ve selected each particular accommodation
- taxis/transfers between your hotels are your responsibility, so don’t wander too far!
If you still haven’t gotten around to starting that travel site, this is the perfect excuse to finally get it up and running. The closing date for entry is the 10th July, where we’ll draw at least one of the entries out of the hat, so make sure you’re itineraries start after that date! To add your itinerary simply add it to the accompanying thread on a4u, on your own blog with a trackback to this post or add it in the comments section below. Simple. ish?
Need help deciding which area / resort to have a go at? Pick one that you think you’ll have an interest in, or get in touch and we’ll point you in the right direction.
Here’s an example itinerary based on Fraser’s new holiday site Paphos Guide -
Depart Edinburgh Airport the 19th August flying to Paphos (PFO)
19th-22nd Aug: Nereus Apartments (Rating: 3)
These apartments are based in the heart of the resort and a good starting base to gather info and photos of the amenities in the resort centre.
22nd-24th Aug: Azia Club and Spa (Rating: 5)
A couple of nights in the 5 star Azia complex, a favourite for families and couples at the top of end of the budget for this area. Sales would have a high basket value, reason enough to visit!
24th-26th Aug: Daphne Apartments (Rating: 4)
Located in the Kato part of Paphos which has seen more recent development, with a lot of new hotels built recently.
26th Aug: Flight home to Edinburgh
There you have it, a fairly intense week of content gathering and photo taking, with the odd opportunity for a bit of sunbathing. Build your own fam trip for your current or new holiday site and we’ll help you get all the unique content you (and Google) could wish for!

I’d plan a trip to Malta - it’s one of those sunny places that you know needs some proper exploring!
I’ve written an article and designed a template for use with Price Tapestry if anyone needs help making an entry site for this competition. It’s at http://davidfiske.com/item/2008/06/win-a-free-holiday-using-price-tapestry
Entry at http://davidfiske.com/item/2008/06/my-sunshinecouk-competition-entry
I love the canary islands, its culture and all year round weather. I am new to Affiliate marketing and Wordpress but I am determined to make my first travel site work.
Here is my entry for a fam trip to Ibiza to promote Ibiza on my site http://www.cheap-beach-holidays.com
Depart from Newcastle on Wednesday 24th September at 0750. Fly with Thomas Cook Airlines
Arrive in Ibiza
Nights 1 and 2
2 Star Sol Bay Apartments in San Antonio Bay
These apartments have been chosen as they seem to offer great value for money and in a good location right in the centre of San Antonio Bay. Close to bars, restaurants and shops. Can find out if they really are good value for money and if they have all of the facilities needed for a self catering holiday.
Nights 3 and 4
3 Star Ibizamar Apartments in San Antonio Bay
The rooms in these apartments are spacious and can sleep up to 4 people. They have air con and a 24 hour reception. One of the reasons for choosing these apartments is that I can compare 2 star with 3 star and see if it really makes a difference in terms of cleanliness and facilities offered. Again these apartments are in a central location and have a cafe, breakfast room, internet access and swimming pool. Seems like these apartments would be good for families.
Nights 5-7
4 Star Nautilis Hotel in San Antonio Bay
The reason for this choice is that I can compare staying in a hotel to staying in apartments and see the
advantages/disadvantages of each. The other reason for choosing the hotel Nautilis is that it is right next to the beach and has loads of facilities. If this hotel turns out to be a good hotel to recommend then the basket value of each sale would be high. Again this hotel seems good for families and couples.
Wednesday 1st October fly home at 12:35 with Thomas Cook Airlines back to Newcastle
Things to do/review whilst on the fam trip:-
-Take a boat ride around some of the different beaches and do write up on each beach such as Playa d’en Bossa and Es Cana.
-Take an Ibiza Island Tour which takes you “from Ibiza Town to the ‘mountain’ village of San Jose taking in some of the island’s finest beaches, spectacular views, and of course, just the odd bar or restaurant to stop off for refreshments”.
-Go to some bars in San Antonio Bay and review
-Go to some restaurants and review
-Spend a day and evening in Ibiza Town and review
-I have been invited to a wedding in Ibiza on the Saturday (27th September) so I would go there and review beach weddings in Ibiza too!
